About Inge Mangelschots

Mrs Inge Mangelschots has been working as policy adviser in the International Relations Office of Ghent University Since September 2010. Until October 2015, her main task consisted of the management of several Erasmus Mundus Action 2 projects on Asia Regional. She also offered support to the China Platform in Ghent University and acted as contact person for the region Southeast Asia for all other matters outside the framework of the EMA2 projects. Since 1 October 2015, she is the coordinator of the East Asia Platform, one of the 6 regional platforms at Ghent University, and is responsible for the overall management of this regional platform. The East Asia Platform acts as university-wide point of contact and coordination desk for all matters related to collaboration with partners in the East Asia region. It coordinates, facilitates and supports cooperation initiatives in the field of education, research, technology and innovation in the East Asia region. It also supports Ghent University in strengthening its service to society and further developing its strategic choices. Before working in Ghent University, she was employed for half a year by the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, where she coordinated the mission of the port to the Shanghai World Expo in June 2010. And before that, she worked in the Consulate General of Belgium in Shanghai, P.R. of China from July 1998 until December 2009.
