About Ingrid Chen

I like to be busy. I find that I’m happier when I’m productive with my time. Getting things done and crossing off items on my to-do list is the best feeling in the world. I always thought my dream was to be an environmentalist or a sustainability specialist. I pursued a B.S. in Environmental Science and seized every opportunity to learn about various environmental issues and sustainability-related topics in college. I filled my time outside the classroom participating in related events, panels, and conferences and holding leadership positions in student clubs, volunteer initiatives, and research projects. Following graduation, I joined Green Monday, a social enterprise and plant-based food startup dedicated to promoting sustainable dietary shifts. Working within a small startup team of seven, I learned to swiftly acquire new skills, take initiative, and navigate through unfamiliar situations without much guidance. During my two-year tenure, I worked with 20+ brands across industries and 50+ partners across corporations, academic institutes, and government entities, led four non-profit programs, and planned and executed 60+ educational events and 10+ physical and online marketing campaigns, including a major marketing/PR campaign for the company’s 10th anniversary/2022 Earth Month. I honed my skills in problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and organization, and gained valuable experiences in project, stakeholder, and time management. While I took pride in my achievements, I found myself yearning for a deeper sense of fulfillment. Upon leaving the company, I started a course in corporate sustainability consulting. I thoroughly enjoyed the classes but soon realized that a job in sustainability wasn’t the right fit for me. So I embarked on a journey of exploring other career options. And that’s when it all happened; the spark I was missing ignited when I stumbled upon product/project management (PM). I was instantly drawn to the nature of the work. It encompasses everything I love; problem-solving, communication, collaboration, organization, constant learning, and a challenging, fast-paced, and ever-changing work environment. With my inquisitive, adaptive nature and my experiences and skills in coordinating campaigns and events with multiple partners and stakeholders, PM feels like the perfect fit. Excited for the next chapter in my career, I am currently seeking opportunities in a PM role within the tech industry. Let's connect and explore how my skills align with your team's needs!
