About Ingrid Colares

A law student at the University of Lisbon, with a strong vocation for the intersection between International Law, Human Mobility and Legal Innovation. I believe that law should be a tool for transformation, and it is in this spirit that I have built my academic and professional career. Founder and president of NEDMA - Centre for Studies in Migration and Asylum Law, I lead legal training initiatives, academic debates and a legal information support office for migrants and refugees. This project has become a space where I combine theory and practice, with real social impact. I'm currently doing my summer internship at EDGE International Lawyers, as part of the Foreign Investment & Residency by Investment team, collaborating on Golden Visa processes, Portuguese nationality applications and residence permits for foreign investors. Curious by nature, I have also explored areas such as Digital Law and Intellectual Property, having been the Communications Director of the IP League at the University of Coimbra and completed specific training courses in these areas. I see law as an instrument that transcends borders. I continually seek out environments that challenge my global vision, my ability to adapt and my commitment to excellence.
