About Inov Sectionov

Sectionov Inov or you can call Inov has been working in rhino conservation in Indonesia for over 20 years. He is Indonesian and completed a Bachelor of Forestry from the Agriculture University of Bogor Indonesia (IPB University). Then he continued the Master's program for Master Conservation Biology at the University of Queensland Australia. He has been the IRF Indonesian Liaison since 2006, then continued as the IRF Indonesia Manager. His current position is the Director of the IRF Indonesia Program. His earlier career was as a Program Officer at Rhino Friend of Indonesia from until 2006. In addition, he was also involved with several studies and research on the Sumatran rhino in Way Kambas, Bukit Barisan Selatan, in collaboration with the Rhino Protection Unit (RPU) and Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary (SRS). In his capacity as IRF Indonesia Program Director, he plays the role of facilitating and supervising some organisations in Indonesia as the grantees of IRF and making a great relationship with the government of the Republic of Indonesia. Inov was awarded the National Geographic Explorer in 2019 and he was also awarded the Disney Conservation Hero 2022, presented by the Disney Conservation Fund for unequalled dedication to conservation by saving wildlife and inspiring action ensuring that wild places around the world remain forever.
