About Ioana Burtea

I'm a passionate writer with 15 years of experience in the media, both in Romania and abroad. My work was published at Mediafax news agency, Decât o Revistă magazine, Europe & Me, New Eastern Europe and The Washington Post. In 2021, I received a Superscrieri Award for my portrait writing. Journalism led me to become interested in other aspects of the media business, such as communications and copywriting. I loved being part of the organising team at the annual storytelling conference at Decât o Revistă magazine in Bucharest for five consecutive years. I learned how to grow an event, how to lead a team and how to speak to an audience. In recent years, I discovered an affinity to public speaking and training. I've spoken about my work and life on stages in front of hundreds of people. I've taught a Narrative Journalism class at the University of Bucharest's School of Journalism. And I've been working with companies and regional communities to train their employees on communicating more efficiently with their customers and/ or audiences.
