About Ioana Muntean

Eng. Muntean is a Sustainability Consultant with a Master’s degree in Environmental Sustainability Engineering from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Passionate about environmental responsibility, she helps companies and institutions design resilient, sustainable projects that create business value, accelerate the energy transition, and deliver measurable environmental benefits. Since 2023, she has been working at RINA, providing expertise in Life Cycle Thinking, Carbon Footprint assessment, GHG reporting, and compliance with national and European funding programs (PNRR, PNIISSI, POR), including climate-proofing guidance. She currently serves as Technical Coordinator in both EU-funded and industrial projects, reflecting her transversal growth and leadership in sustainability initiatives. In research and development, she has led multiple EU projects as WP Leader and Task Leader, strengthening her expertise in impact assessment studies (LCA, LCC, SLCA), Ecodesign, and the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) methodology. Her background also includes entrepreneurial experience as co-founder of a start-up developing hydrogen fuel cell systems for industrial vehicles (later acquired by a private company), demonstrating her ability to combine technical expertise with innovation and strategic vision.
