About Ioanna Bourdala

I am currently employed at Akti Shipping SA in Athens which operates bulkers. I act as Administrative Assistant to senior management of the company and as assistant to the Technical Department. Also I track and act on correspondence with the captain and technical managers of the company's Cape size vessel. Furthermore I handle domestic bank relations and day to day cash operations. I coordinate company correspondence with Panama, Liberia and Marshall Islands and I monitor the sales and purchases of ships on a daily basis, checking ship registries and compiling the data in Excel for presentation to senior management In December 2013 I was awarded a degree in Naval Architecture from the Technical Training Institute of Athens. My thesis was "An Economic Analysis regarding the use of Photovoltaic Panels on Vessels". I have earned additional Certificates in the use of Microsoft Office applications (ECDL) and for Excel. As improving one's skill set is an ongoing process, I intend to take additional courses in such areas as business management and use of the Internet for commercial purposes. I enjoy playing tennis, swimming and martial arts. I have earned distinctions in kickboxing as well as in track and field.
