About Iolanda Maltese

I successfully obtained my QTS, due my previous experience as a teacher in primary school in Italy. Actually I'm working in a secondary school in Hackney as LSA. I strongly believe education is empowering and I strive to ensure that students develop a love of learning and gain the skills necessary to become independent, life long learners and responsible citizens. I am totally committed to ensuring full inclusion and equality within the learning environment and I have previous experience in children with special needs: Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social Emotional or Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD) as well as those who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL). After my experience as teacher In Italy, I begun my career as a journalist in a local radio, being in charge for news and entertainment talk show. In UK I obtained a Level 5 Diploma in teaching and training. I'm a Montessori's supporter! I'm keen to work using arts/music/fine arts with the purpose to help the pupils to get more self confidence and cope with any learning /behaviour issues. I've got a certificate in speech therapy and music therapist. Looking for a "brave" school, willing to use my radio project as a very import tool to use to teach mindfulness about society. I really enjoy my job! Opening new horizons to pupils, always remembering that kindnesses and teaching have to work together!
