About Iole Mannella

Medicinal chemist specializing in small molecule synthesis and hit‑to‑lead progression, with solid experience in supporting certified preclinical development projects. My work combines multidisciplinary expertise, from synthetic chemistry to physicochemical and analytical profiling (solubility, enzymatic activity, stability), enabling comprehensive evaluation of drug candidates and informed decision-making across discovery and development stages. During my PhD, co‑funded by Drug Discovery and Clinic s.r.l.(DDC), I contributed to the preclinical development of a novel candidate for the treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia, overseeing the project’s scientific strategy, timelines, and resource management. I coordinated cross‑functional activities with a CRO (Charles River Laboratories), successfully advancing the program from drug discovery into early drug development phase with the goal of achieving First‑in‑Human clinical studies. I am passionate about advancing drug discovery programs, critically analyzing complex datasets, and fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to accelerate translation from bench to bedside.
