About Ion Malael

Ph.D Eng. Ion MĂLĂEL, born in 1985. Associate professor at "Politehnica" UNIVERSITY Bucharest Aerospace Engineering Faculty since 2014. Member in NRDI COMOTI "CFD Department" since 2009, Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, 2014; Master in “Software in Aerospace Engineering”, 2011; Aviation Engineer – Aerospace Constructions, Aerospace Engineering Faculty at UPB – 2009. Experience in CFD (ANSYS CFX, Fluent), CAD design (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, AutoCAD), wind turbine experimentation. Most of the projects in which I was involved were in the field of blade machines, the main scientific achievements focusing on improving their performance, In the past ten years, I published over 40 scientific articles both in conferences and in specialized journals. From 2009 until now I've been involved in over 10 national research projects (Partnerships, Nucleu, Cec de inovare, STAR) and international (FP7, Clean Sky, H2020), performing aerodynamic analysis and aerodynamic optimization, being in certain phases, work package leader allowing me to acquire experience in the management field. Recently I've became project manager of two research projects, one on the Competitiveness Operational Programme 2014-2020 with a budget over 1.3 mil euro where the wind turbine know-how of NRDI COMOTI will be transferred to industrial partner and the other on Research Development and innovation - National Partnership, PED(demonstrator model) where a reduced scale VAWT new concept was tested in the wind tunnel and now this model is the main idea of a new project proposal where the research organization will transfer the know-how to an industrial partner to develop a prototype.
