About Ion Mixon

I am the Chief Risk Officer for The First Bank. We are a ~$8 billion financial institution headquartered in Hattiesburg, MS with branches located in AL, FL, GA, LA, and MS. I have helped to develop an Enterprise Risk Management approach to managing risk within our bank. Was instrumental in designing and implementing our ERM program using the Riskonnect software solution. We have moved from a siloed risk management approach to a more holistic view of risk management. Also, I supervise the bank's Risk Management Department. The Risk Management Department consists of ~50 employees and contains the following individual departments underneath its umbrella: the Compliance Department, the BSA/AML/OFAC Department, the TRID Department, the Loan Quality Control Department, the Appraisal Department, the Credit Portfolio Risk Management Department, the Enterprise Risk Management Department, and External Loan Review.
