About Irene Gustafson

I have ten years of experience in technical writing where my primary roles included procedural and operation protocol modeling and writing, development plan creation and editing (scale diagrams of structures and layout), and permit application and renewal writing, all of which involved extensive research and understanding the Government of Alberta legislation and regulations to ensure adherence to all laws and codes of practice. My duties in that position also included keeping correspondence and open communications with various representatives of the overseeing government agencies and negotiating agreeable methods of practice. Please don’t see my 8-year hiatus from technical writing as a deterrent to hiring me. During this time, I devoted my time to raising my kids and home-schooling them. But I never stopped developing my skills, as I have become familiar with several programs and software since my former Technical writing position. I work well independently or in groups. I have exceptional time management skills and I understand how to prioritize tasks. I am comfortable with public speaking and have excellent communication and writing skills. I currently co-facilitate a step program and have served on the board of directors for our local Bowling Society. In my free time, I have been writing an autobiography and would be happy to submit a sample upon request. I am proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Open Office, Google Docs, Google Sheets, HML, and Photoshop, and eager to learn other software when given the
