About Irina Johnson

I have a first-class masters degree in International Contract Law from one of the most prestigious universities in Russia - the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), and masters degree in law from The University of Aberdeen, UK (LLM in International Trade Law and Treaty Negotiations). I started my legal career nearly 20 years ago and progressed from a legal PA to a senior legal adviser within 5 years. Throughout my career, I have built my legal experience initially working in Russia and in the UK for various organisations. In my next role as a Contract Lawyer I was covering telecommunications regulations and wider legislation, being involved in the pioneering video-on-demand project in Russia (including trade and contract negotiations with world leading corporations – Samsung, Disney, Sony and many others). I have worked internationally across multiple geographies including supporting projects in the Middle East, Central Asia, South America and Africa. In 2013 I relocated to the UK to solely focus on the development of my own business in London, offering bespoke concierge services. Today the company is a successful enterprise and I have most recently been working as a consultant to the business. I believe that the combination of my international legal experience and language skills will help me to succeed in my legal career. It will provide me with the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and experience given changes and differences in legal frameworks in the UK and internationally. I have worked on projects, adapted to changing legislation, and translated complex legal documentation across multiple languages. Having worked in the UK for several years, I can state that I am well familiar and fully conversant in UK law, both English and Scots Commercial and Contract Law. I have strong analytical skills and I am capable of working to tight deadlines and under high pressure. I utilise my strong interpersonal and communication skills including writing, presenting, and relationship management to work well with colleagues, suppliers and customers accordingly. I believe I have the necessary transferrable skills and experience as well as expertise to support key business processes. I enjoy a challenge and believe I would be a valuable addition to any team.
