About Irina O.

With over 10 years of experience in education and foreign language instruction, I am confident in my ability to contribute to a team and to help cultivate a community that values every member. I have a Master of Science in Education from Walden University and in progress a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from the University of Massachusetts. As the Coordinator for Culture, Diversity, and Belonging at Albuquerque Academy, I work with the Parent Council, the administration, and the faculty to coordinate student-focused activities that foster awareness, respect, and appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. I also teach Middle School learners and serve as an advisor for a group of ten students, using educational technology and data analytics to monitor and improve their performance and proficiency goals. My diverse background having lived and been born in Panama, Central America, has been an asset in how I approach my role in every position I have held. As a lifelong learner last summer (2023), I spent a month in Spain at the University of Salamanca attending a course for Spanish teachers. My mission is to empower every student and stakeholder to embrace their unique identity and potential and to contribute to a positive and collaborative learning community.
