About Iris Francis

After working as an international tax lawyer, specializing in Africa, for two major law firms, for about 10 years, I decided to leave the practice and join TotalEnergies as tax manager for Africa in the company's M&S branch. After holding this very challenging position for 5 years, I decided to leave taxation, which I really enjoyed, to take up new challenges by joining an operational business: here I am now Deputy VP for the Southern Africa zone. My day-to-day life is made up of learning and new challenges, and I'm living up to what I'd always hoped for - and even more, because as well as changing scope and subject matter, I've also changed continent. Here I am in Africa, my beloved continent, and more precisely in South Africa. My role now can be resumed in assisting the VP of the zone in managing the subsidiaries, in direct contact with the Managing Directors and operational staff. It's a new adventure that I'm really enjoying, with a new challenges every day, but a gain in know-how at the end of each day.
