About Iris Kerssebeeck

I studied Visual Communications at Letterkenny ATU and graduated in 2002. Graphic design has always been my passion, encompassing all the aspects that make it a unique blend of art and technology to communicate ideas and messages. For me, graphic design is a creative process with an explicit purpose or meaning beyond just being artistic or pleasant to the senses. It motivates people to go somewhere, acquire something, do something, or think something. Good graphic design harmonises the elements in a way that reinforces the message being communicated. Despite my enduring love for design, I have made a significant career change into teaching. Teaching appeals to the tech-savvy side of me, eager to share knowledge and inspire others. For the last 7 years, this transition has been incredibly fulfilling, and I have discovered a new passion for teaching. I have had the privilege of teaching all levels of Excel and other Microsoft applications, Social Media & Digital Marketing, and of course one of my favourites Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. Now, I’m bringing that same enthusiasm to the world of Immersive Technology as the Interim Programme Manager for the Immersive Technology Apprenticeship in Ireland. Immersive tech—VR, AR, MR - is reshaping industries, from education to business, and I’m excited to help shape the future of XR. This apprenticeship is a game-changer, providing learners with hands-on skills while supporting businesses in adopting cutting-edge technology.
