About Iris Medina
I am from the beautiful state of Zacatecas, in Mexico but I grew up in the state of Iowa. Living in Zacatecas versus Iowa is like living on two different planets. Both have contributed greatly to who I am today. My hometown takes me to one of the most ecologically diverse deserts on earth, with majestic mountains, plains, and low valleys. Our love for architecture and artistry is found throughout the state, and the archeological sites add to the richness of our culture. In Iowa, the name says it all. The name Iowa (meaning beautiful) was given by one of the indigenous chieftains of the area. Agriculture, baseball (GO CUBS!), and appreciation of performing arts have gained new value in my life thanks to this beautiful state. I served in the military for over eight years. Throughout this time, I had the pleasure of working with people from all walks of life. I made friends who have become family and gained experience in way I never anticipated. Currently, I am a student at Texas A&M University – Central Texas. Finishing a BAAS is my immediate goal, but obtaining a master’s degree in finance is what I truly desire. Mastering finances provides a strong foundation that allows you to invest time in what you truly love, rather than working endlessly as an attempt to achieve you dreams.
