About Iris Michelsen

Recent Emerson College graduate with a BFA in Political Communications and Creative Writing, currently applying my skills as an Intake Specialist. My concentration was in advocacy, as it’s important to me that my work empowers and uplifts others in my community. This passion has brought me to Shegerian & Associates, a law firm specializing in employment law. I bring a unique blend of communication skills and data science expertise to my role, building on my experience as an Outreach Intern at the Community Dispute Settlement Center in Cambridge. My proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS Statistics Software, Wordpress, and Canva in addition to my average typing speed of over 80 words per minute help me to meet my goals. In order to expand my skillset, I am currently enrolled in the UC Berkeley Data Science and Visualization Boot Camp. Through this course I will be learning to use a variety of relevant databases and programming languages, including Python, SQL, HTML, CSS, and more. Open to connecting with professionals in the data science, legal, and nonprofit sectors for collaborations and discussions on how I can apply my skills to further contribute to community betterment.
