About Iris Usnik

Hello! I have been working in Revenue Cycle Management for two medical practices since 1994. My expertise is in payment posting and also all that follows. I started as collections manager and asked to step down so I would have the ability to work from home and care for an elderly parent. When I started with Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio, there were nine physicians. During my time there the practice increased to more than 50 providers and added several locations. I helped the clinic transition from Medical Manager to Nextgen software. I oversaw payment posting, refunds, and insurance and patient collections. I resigned from the clinic in early 2019 in order to follow my husband to the DC metro area. I started a payment posting position a few months later with GWU Medical Faculty Associates. Our billing office was contracted out to Savista in 2020. I transferred to their employment at that time. I am very skilled in reading explanations of benefits and can post very accurately and at a rate that consistently meets quotas. I enjoy training and helping others. I also enjoy researching and auditing. I am self-driven and have an extremely high work ethic. I love working from home and feel that I am more productive than in an office setting as there are fewer disruptions. I hope to continue doing this same type of work for several more years.
