About Iryna Khoruzhenko

I joined the WSP Whangarei office on June 2022 with 13 years of experience working in various capacities to complete construction engineering tasks. I'm an expert in directing the workflow of earth and concrete works, underground utility installations, and green and brownfield project demolitions. I'm a Project Manager of various different projects for Waka Katahi, Golden Bay Cement, etc. My expertise encompasses Bridge Asset Management, inspection of bridges and civil structures, and design of concrete and steel structures. Back in Ukraine, I used to work as a Civil Engineer (Team leader of the Design Team). We performed on-site field surveys and wrote technical narratives to document processes and design changes. We developed various projects of bridges and overpasses made of monolithic reinforced concrete, making drawings of concrete structures. We developed concept layouts and designs of concrete and metal structures from specifications using 3D CAD software (AutoCad, Tekla). Steel Detailing was a significant part of my professional experience. From 2010 to 2022, I had been developing CAD models and drawings for industrial designs. Also drafted 2D and 3D modelling using Tekla Structures Software. We worked closely with engineers, land surveyors, and other key stakeholders on different infrastructure projects. At the beginning of my career, I was a University Tutor. I led the practical classes (Building and Engineering department). As a part of my PhD path, I took part in various scientific conferences and wrote many scientific articles and papers in cooperation with professors.
