About Iryna Rybchak

I work as a Settlement Counsellor at Bridges Niagara - Immigrant and Refugee Services, helping newcomers understand Canadian society and culture. I also promote an inclusive and welcoming environment that respects cultural diversity. In September 2022, I started my journey to become a Certified English Language Teacher. I earned my TESOL Certificate with the Niagara Catholic District School Board and recently completed my TESOL Diploma with the Canadian College of Educators, getting certified with OCELT and ICTEAL. Since January 2024, I've been a part-time English as a Second Language Instructor with the Niagara Catholic District School Board, teaching newcomers English using PBLA standards. I love creating fun and interactive lessons that suit different learning styles, using various techniques and materials to keep students engaged and motivated. I'm passionate about helping people build new lives in Canada because I was a newcomer myself. Born and raised in Ukraine, I came to Canada as a student and earned a Journalism Diploma from Niagara College. I was lucky to have people who helped me succeed, and now I’m committed to giving back and supporting others.
