Background
About Isaac Goodlet
I was raised in Speedway, Indiana, a suburb just outside of Indianapolis. My hometown is mainly known for its connection to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I received my BS in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University in December of 2021. Since then, I have moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to work for Plexus Corporation as a Digital Hardware Engineer. My work at Plexus has consisted of full-cycle medical device design, including phases like specification and architecture, engineering confidence, transition to manufacturing, and manufacturing sustainability. From these various phases, I have developed unique skills in Python, such as: scripting to interface with lab test equipment, designing GUI's to interface with projects and simplify usability for others, performing netlist compares between Cadence HDL and Altium Designer, and analyzing large datasets using Pandas, Seaborn, SciPy, NumPy, and Matplotlib.Outside of Python, I have designed circuits for various digital interfaces, such as: Ethernet, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, 40G QSFP+, USB 3.1 Gen2, and various others. Alongside designing the circuits for said interfaces, I have also performed post-layout Signal Integrity analysis in HyperLynx. Both frequency, and time domain simulations were performed on all interfaces, and influenced changes, such as swapping layers, moving/adding stitching vias and voids, etc, to the PCB. I have also performed pre-layout Signal Integrity analysis through the synthesis of loss budgets and guidelines for customers. In my free time, I enjoy film photography, vintage camera repair, guitar, 3D printing, and woodworking. Recent projects have consisted of restoring a 1960's Magnavox Stereo Console and Turntable, designing a shutter speed and curtain velocity tester for film camera repair, and semi-professionally repairing film cameras for clients.
