Background

About Isaac Merson

My work is to address climate change and biodiversity loss through efforts which address the basic needs of human beings and support the integrity of the systems to which we belong. Recently, I’ve become engaged in process oriented efforts to support collaboration and community led efforts for environmental management. My goal is to use empathy and analytical tools in conjunction in order to find new solutions to longstanding problems of both equity and environmental degradation, and pursue change by thoughtfully communicating those solutions. Specifically, my work has focused on the conservation of critically endangered species, as well as nature-based solutions to climate change which uphold the sovereignty of human communities. Work and study in ecological restoration and forestry, environmental communication, and community-based conservation, linking tropical and temperate forests, wetlands, and farmlands, have prepared me to join the growing movement to realign our relationship with the natural world, and build a just, resilient, and thriving human ecology.
