About Isabel Casas

Hello! My name is Isabel Casas (she/her(s)/ella). During my undergraduate studies, I discovered my passion for making an impact in the field of education. As a first-generation Latina, my passion for advising grew from aiming to continue developing meaningful connections with students and being a social justice advocate in my community. I aspire to be a supportive mentor who reaffirms and humanizes the diverse experiences of first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. In order to further explore a career in advising/mentorship, I joined a post-graduate fellowship with UCLA's Destination College Advising Corps (DCAC) and Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP). In this position, I served as a full-time college advisor for students in underserved communities. At my high school placement site, I learned the importance of leading with kindness and empathy for students, staff, parents, and community partners. I am currently the Student Employment Advisor for the From Here to Career Readiness Program at CSUN's Career Center. I am excited to continue developing my skills as an advisor and supporting college students in their future career pathways.
