About Isabel Evans

I’m a biomechanist with a background in kinesiology and a lifelong connection to sport and movement. I recently completed my Master of Science in Kinesiology, where my research examined the role of maximal cushioning footwear as an intervention for low back pain caused by prolonged standing in healthcare professionals. My work integrates motion capture, force plate analysis, and electromyography to understand how footwear and biomechanics influence musculoskeletal health. My path into biomechanics began through sport. Growing up competing in cross country, indoor track, and tennis across New England—and later continuing collegiate tennis while completing my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia—I developed a deep curiosity about how the body moves, adapts, and performs. Today, I’m passionate about applying biomechanics to real-world problems. I’m especially interested in bridging the gap between research, product innovation, and athlete experience.
