About Isabel Simpson

Working within an ever changing, face-paced role has always suited my unique characteristics. Over thepast eighteen months I have worked as the Lead Examination Director and Data Executive at a large stateschool. I was employed to run this department as a succession of employees had only lasted a fewmonths. I had not worked within the section before but within six months I had revolutionised thedepartment. I liaised with key departments in the school to understand the need and implement newstrategies and systems to streamline the department. I have loved this challenge and feel passionate aboutengaging new and current team members to embrace change. This has given me vital experience in projectmanagement, and I now feel confident to take on a new role where I can further develop and implement theskills I have learnt. I have a huge passion for supporting young people, and I feel proud of the way I haveshifted the role of Examination Director to a student led, student facing role. I have great relationships withthe students and feel I have genuinely made a difference when supported them through their exams.In addition to this, previously working as a SEND teacher I am accomplished in creating materials in acomprehensive, accessible, and appropriate way. Creativity and adaptability are vital skills I have developedwhen working with charities, support groups and parents during my time in the SEND environment. I believethat I can bring a unique combination of empathy and efficiency to any role.I have always been passionate about developing my own skills, I have attended numerous conferences andcompleted vast amounts of online learning to ensure I am always well-educated in the area I am delivering.My team described me as being approachable and unflappable during a crisis.Through my time at university studying Applied Drama, I learnt how to present myself to large groups ofpeople, delivering relevant and accessible material. In my current role I regularly plan and host 'ExamPreparation Evenings' where I speak in front of 350 people. This experience shows my ability to coordinate,plan and help to deliver shared learning events for colleges, clients and students.I look forward to the opportunity to interview for future roles so that i can further illustrate my suitability inmore depth.
