I became a lawyer in Brazil because I’ve always believed in the power of justice to transform lives. After moving to Canada and working across diverse legal and regulatory environments, I realized that my mission could go even further—by helping organizations grow through ethics, compliance, and digital responsibility. With over 8 years of legal experience in administrative and labour law, I currently serve as a Legal Assistant for the Government of British Columbia, supporting legal teams in human rights and labour-related matters. I also work as Manager of AI Ethics, Privacy & Data Governance at R&O Advocacia, where I advise clients on risk mitigation, privacy impact assessments (PIAs), algorithmic accountability, and responsible innovation. My focus has increasingly shifted toward privacy, data protection, and digital governance—key pillars for building a fair and secure society. In addition, I’m a researcher at GoodBot, contributing to The Unrepresented, a global initiative examining the legal, ethical, and technical impacts of generative AI on underrepresented creators. My work bridges international regulatory frameworks—such as the EU AI Act, U.S. Executive Orders, and Canadian and Brazilian privacy laws—with emerging technical approaches like watermarking, data trusts, and inclusive governance models. To support my practice, I’ve completed specialized training in Canadian privacy law (BC Information Privacy Certificate), AI governance (IPAC & Apolitical), and information security. I hold certifications in AI Governance (CAIPC), ISO/IEC 27001, FOIPPA & PIA, and I’m an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). My strength lies in translating complex legal and regulatory concepts into accessible, human-centered, and actionable strategies. Whether advising on digital transformation or supporting public service teams, I help organizations embed trust, transparency, and fairness into their decision-making.
