About Isabelle Breitenbach

After my apprenticeship as a design engineer, I started studying mechanical engineering at the FHNW Technik. Parallel to my studies I was actively involved in the student council (Fachschaft Technik) to keep the campus life going, organize events and represent the opinion of the students. In addition, I was in charge of the 3D printers in the Makerstudio, took care of their maintenance and trained the students and teachers. This is also how I developed my interest in additive manufacturing and plastics technology in general. I finally completed my studies with a specialization in plastics technology. I wrote my thesis on the development of a positioning device for hip dyplasia diagnostic in developing countries. I gained my first professional experience at Smith & Nephew Orthopeadics AG in Aarau. In this position I was responsible for the development and support of implants and instruments for hip and knee replacement. After half a year I took over the supervision of the trainees together with my colleague. After almost 3 years, I joined the AGRO AG, where I now design and develop products for electrical installations, and can thus further apply and deepen my knowledge of plastics technology and injection molding technology.
