About Isabelle Debecker

Experienced and qualified IP professional, having managed patent portfolios in various industrial fields, implemented the related IP strategies and led a team of patent attorneys, now applying my expertise within the dynamic field of beauty tech. Driven to transform scientific and technical advancements into strategic IP assets, I aim to partner with innovators and business developers to protect, defend and leverage innovation. After completing a PhD in Physics, I began my career in industry as a research and development engineer, progressing to a project manager role. It was during this time that I had the opportunity to contribute to new developments as an inventor. Drawn to this blend of technical insight and legal framework, I transitioned into a patent attorney position. This role allowed me to engage with a wide spectrum of technical areas, including mechanics, materials science, process engineering, optics, fluidics, packaging and dispensing technologies, electronics, digital sciences. Later, I progressed to a management function, overseeing the patent activities for several business units, while leading and developing a team of patent attorneys. Seeking to broaden my horizons and engage with different technological challenges and business approaches, I made a move to the cosmetics industry. Here, I am actively involved in IP matters related to beauty tech, encompassing areas such as beauty devices, software, beauty platforms and digital services.
