About Isabelle Majewski

Growing up in a smaller Midwestern city with family members in a variety of medical professions, it seemed natural for me to pursue healthcare as a career. My father is an OBGYN and has taught me the value of relationships with patients and families, and how to make a lasting positive impact on another person. More than a disease or face, each person is unique and this I know firsthand. When I was 9 months old, I was adopted from China. While at first glance, I may look a bit different than my parents, I have learned that each person has a story and we are to treat each other, and our patients, with dignity and respect no matter the circumstance. My passion for NICU comes partially from my adoption and the realization that I am meant to care for people as I had been cared for, but also my clinical experience. I was grateful to have the opportunity to have my capstone in the NICU. I felt immediate passion for the NICU because I fell in love with the population and the ability to create meaningful relationships with the parents and babies. From conception to birth, and then beyond, survival is a fight. When babies come out of the womb, they fight for a chance to experience the world. I draw strength from these infants and hope to learn how to be as resilient and strong as they are. I am eager to know these patients, face the challenges, and celebrate the progressions. Every family, every situation, and every baby is unique and I would welcome the opportunity to continue my education and make a difference for each family.
