About Isha Garg

I currently serve as a Scale 1 Officer and Human Resources Manager in the Disciplinary Action Cell at the Mumbai Circle Office of Canara Bank. My prior experience in commercial banking spans large and mid sized branch operations across various sections (deposits, advances, cash and forex), big data and information systems in the Management Information & Product Development division, and ATM and currency chest management. My customers applaud the diligence and empathy with which I serve them. My superiors commend me for my efficiency and quality of work. My subordinates appreciate my learning-by-doing attitude and hands on approach to leadership. I joined the bank on being selected among the top 0.32% of 11.27 lakh candidates nationwide in the IBPS PO exam 2017-18. I earned my MSc. in Economics from BITS Pilani - Goa Campus, where my Master's thesis explored pioneering themes in financial inclusion in India. At school, I consistently topped my class and achieved top 0.50%ile scores in national and international competitive exams. My academic interests away from economics and finance include philosophy, mythology, literature (particularly enjoy Jane Austen) and East Asian languages, cultures and history (speak Korean, Mandarin and Chinese). I have considerable experience as an amateur investor in Indian financial and real assets, and actively manage a vast, diversified portfolio of equity, bond, real estate an alternative investments. I am a classically trained Hindustani music singer, and enjoy horse riding and air rifle shooting in my spare time. I also feel passionately about education and children welfare, and volunteer with NGOs in this space.
