About Isha Jain

There were two key defining moments in my life that came to shape my future drastically: 1. The moment I realised that I’m endlessly fascinated by how our environment, geography, history and culture interact in shaping us as people. I later learned that the term commonly used to define this field of study is ‘anthropology’. For the past decade, I’ve been chasing stories about people, places, cultures, languages and cannot seem to get enough. Joining my middle school soccer team (by complete chance) and pursuing soccer well into my university days shaped my adolescent years. I learnt more ‘life lessons’ on the field, than I ever did in the classroom. Soccer not only taught me about discipline, grit, patience and leadership, but it helped me discover the joys of being part of a team. I’ve been devoted to every team I’ve been in since then because I truly believe a good team can achieve goals, but a great team can achieve dreams and create magic! These key moments have contributed significantly to who I am today- An anthropology fanatic with a passion for people, stories, languages and cultures - An advocate for culture, community and diversity who is empowered and driven by people’s stories - A team player who thrives best when given the space to innovate with like-minded and passionate people Over the past few years, I’ve channelled my energy into creating & executing sustainable and inclusive programs to engage students and mobilizing them to excel in their educational and personal endeavors. Looking into the future, I aim to democratise anthropological knowledge and translate it into accessible media, which put simply, is to take content that one usually finds in research papers and texts and convert it into contemporary media (visual storytelling, videos, photo journals, blogs and magazines)
