About Ishan Acharya

Having been a space enthusiast for most of my life, I'm proud to be working on Canadarm3 at MDA as we look forward to the next generation of missions to the Moon and beyond. My educational background and core of my work at MDA is in mechanical engineering. My current focus is to grow my already strong engineering foundations to gain specialized expertise in the space sector. Additionally, my detail oriented nature and ability to learn quickly has given me opportunities to branch my skills into the project management realm, understanding how it works together with the technical aspect of a project to be successful. Outside of work, I'm a big proponent of STEM outreach and love getting involved with student centered events. In the past, I co-founded McMaster Design League which later branched into National Design League, hosting engineering competitions as a means of connecting students with industry. I have also helped organize SEDS Canada's annual space conferences, aiming to make the Canadian Space Industry accessible to students across the country.
