Background
About Ishbel Davis
I am a lively and determined Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, with a passion for supporting unheard and minority voices. I have worked with the NHS for 10 years and have experience across equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), Cancer Wait Times (CWT), medical records, appointments, team leadership, clinical office administration, pathway analysis and Referral To Treatment (RTT). I am a natural leader with skills in training delivery and all-round communication (written, verbal, subliminal), having campaigned for LGBTQ+ inclusion and written robust Standard Operating Procedures, using persuasion, determination logic and empathy. I am passionate about equality and diversity and believe everyone should have equal opportunities and be their authentic self at work (respect for all). “EDI directly affects me and is close to my heart as a female, disabled pansexual (physically and mentally). I want everyone to be able to live and work authentically. I have experienced discrimination and I will ensure I am doing everything I can to make improvements.” Passionate about giving a voice to minority groups, using my own knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community to drive acceptance and inclusion. Volunteer for local events, and currently the LGBTQ+ Network Chair, Disability and Wellbeing Network Chair at ASPH, member of the REACH Network and avid supporter of Men's Health. Previously a qualified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with a first aid and ambulance charity called Hart First Response (HFR), volunteering at a multitude of public events, and dealing with patients of all ages. Always ensured patients were safe, healthy, happy and came first. Ex Assistant Explorer Scout Leader (AESL), planning and running activities for a group of active 14-18 year old Scouts (some special needs), and followed information governance, Data Protection Act 1998 and the Caldicott principles. Became a role model, motivator and mentor, whilst delivering activities for the young people to develop their personal independence and life skills. Acted professionally and understood the boundaries of dealing with children in a youth organisation and always considered safety and safeguarding. Starred in and helped organise two ASPH Pantomimes made by staff for staff to improve health and wellbeing for staff and give them a creative outlet. Sung at various work events for patients and staff as part of the Healing Arts Programme.
