About Ishira Samarasinghe

As a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Stevens Institute of Technology, I have conducted extensive research on the behavior and identification of distinct tautomers, isomers, and artifact species of small molecules using ambient ionization techniques during mass spectrometry analysis. With over six years of experience, I have developed innovative techniques and methodologies to enhance the interpretation of mass spectra, as well as the reliability and accuracy of mass spectrometric data analysis by artificial intelligence. I also possess a strong expertise in method development using LC-MS/MS. In addition to my research, I have taught the fundamentals of analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis techniques to both undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory settings. My use of active learning strategies has resulted in a 120% increase in student final grades. I have a solid foundation in analytical chemistry and a deep passion for mass spectrometry, particularly in ion mobility mass spectrometry (IM-MS), ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS), high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). My goal is to contribute to the advancement of science and technology in the field of mass spectrometry and its applications.
