About Ishita Singh

Ishita can’t believe she’s about to be a senior at Dartmouth, and even more shockingly, she’s still on track to double major and write a thesis. She’s not sold on luck, but she needs all the coffee she can get. Ishita has been away from Dartmouth for almost 6 months, and while she misses it dearly, she’s still busy learning. This spring, she conducted research at three labs studying stem cells, embryology, and biodiversity at the Marine Biological Lab in Cape Cod. She dabbled in CRISPR, live imaging, PCR, and snail racing, and was honored with the title of ‘Queen of Microinjections’ by her classmates. Outside of lab hours, she biked to the beach to collect sea glass, got sweet treats at the French bakery in town, did puzzles at the local library, but somehow always ended up back at the lab. This summer, she’s exploring the intersection of Machine Learning, Engineering, and Biotechnology through her internship at Envisagenics. She’s also exploring a new and improved sleep schedule, since she’s working on New York time while living in LA. Ishita is proud to be a young woman (and leader!) in tech, former Girl Guide, soon-to-be-published co-author, radio show host, and mentor: a student she TA’ed once told her she was the reason he became a Computer Science major, and saying she felt like she changed the world is an understatement.
