About Isla Russell
Proactive, passionate youth worker, advocator and pastoral worker, as well as a supporter of youth social justice and positive youth interventions. I graduated from university in November 2017. I am passionate about the youth of today; they face numerous barriers and struggles in society, and the financial cuts have made this an even bigger issue for them. Even though we have to produce targeted work and measurable outcomes, I believe we can still, if we are young person centred provide the opportunities and life chances our young people need. One of my biggest passions is the need for early interventions of the signs of coercion and control in domestic abuse to make young people as young as 11 aware of these signs, in the hope of prevention in later life. I believe every young person has something to offer, and will do my utmost to enable them to achieve this.
