About Ismail Allison

I am a psychology major, sociology minor at Howard University, graduating in Spring 2021. My main professional interests are in writing and journalism. I apply the knowledge I learned in my undergraduate studies to understand events in the world. I am looking to do meaningful work that allows me write about the important issues of our time. In college, I wrote articles for The Liberato, a campus political review, and I established Al Qalam magazine, the official publication of the Howard University Muslim Students Association. In the summer of 2020, I did an internship with Titipoza, a grief counselling service, where I wrote articles about grief and mental health-related topics. My skills are in writing, editing, layout design, communication, leadership, and teamwork. I am motivated and eager to learn.
