About Ismail Temiz

A native of Istanbul, Turkey, I moved to London in 2011 to pursue fluent English language skills and greater career prospects. I immediately set up my own giftware business to facilitate the right to work and live in the United Kingdom while I pursued further education and citizenship. After receiving indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom in 2017, and which citizenship followed in 2018, I enrolled in a university degree to pursue a career in graphic design. The employment market following graduation in 2021 for newly trained graphic designers was particularly limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a keen online gamer and technology enthusiast, I pivoted to a career in technology. I was selected for the competitive, London-based, Digital Futures programme and was fortunate to complete a three-month training contract which subsequently led to full-time employment and secondment to media giant, Sky Group Limited, as a Junior Cloud/Site Reliability Engineer. I enjoy creating and setting up the technical backbone for effective cloud services and working with various existing and emerging technologies. This is a career path I wish to advance.
