About Ivan Buttignon

I am a Master’s student in AI & Data Science with a great interest in Machine Learning, LLM’s and Generative AI: I have partecipated and won several hackathons regarding the theme of AI and EdTech, reaching the 2nd place in Europe in the Eestech Challenge 2024 in Sarajevo with my team. I won the SISSA merit-based scolarship for my Master Degree in Trieste and I have been awarded as the best student of the whole Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Geosciences of University of Trieste during my Bachelor Degree. I am currently working as Software Developer for HTX SRL in Trieste: I work on different AI projects for several Italian Universities and for European research projects, regarding RAG, Information Retrieval, LLMs and Generative AI. I am really interested in all the applications of Data Analysis in the football/sports field, too. In fact, I got the certification in Football Data Analyst, associated with A.I.A.P.C and I did a 3 months internship at Exelio SRL, where I developed a Sensor Fusion algorithm that enhances footballers’ GPS speed data precision using the measurments of an IMU system. Moreover, I developed a Machine Learning model for the binary classification of impacts in a rugby match using accelerometer data. Last but not least, I am a startup enthusiast and in fact I am Co-Founder of Lite AI: I have reached many great goals with my team: we won the CLab Award 2024 in Trieste and we have been awarded as the 3rd best startup idea in Italy by Invitalia in September 2024. I am always positive, ambitious, enterprising and willing to learn new things!
