About Ivan Hart

I have served as a Police Officer for the past 26 years covering most aspects of policing. Gaining knowledge and insight into various roles from front line policing, neighbourhood teams, secondment to Immigration service (UK Border force) public order, became public order tactical advisor, CBRN officer, to name but a few. I qualified in IOSH as a federation rep (union rep) in 2017 looking after the interests of police officers, carrying out various investigations, Inspections, fire drills etc in police buildings all over the force area. I took on the role of H&S adviser with Northumbria police in 2021 working under a H&S manager along with 2 other H&S advisers. Gaining my NEBOSH cert in June 2022. My main area was central, however looked after the multisite of the force. regular inspections, carrying out pressure testing with Fire drills in Custody suites, firearms department etc During COVID19 advising and carrying out spot checks. Leaving the force in December 2022 as a qualified H&S practitioner, I then took on a role as logistics operative with a local logistics firm, covering some aspects of H&S within that role. I then took on a 6 month short term contract role as H&S manager with Education Village Academy trust in Darlington, My main duties were to bring the academy up to compliance and carrying out every aspect of H&S manager on a multi site academy (5 Schools). renewing policies and procedures, carrying out investigations, fire drills. I am now on a qualified level 6 Diploma and attaining CertIOSH status and currently work for the Citation group as a H&S consultant and hope to further my career within H&S. Hoping to further qualify to Chartered status in the future.
