About Ivan Kim

I am a dedicated pre-med student and leader passionate about pursuing a career in medicine to make a meaningful impact. Choosing chemistry as my major was an easy decision; it was my favorite subject in high school and provides a strong foundation for the MCAT and my future as a physician. My ultimate goal is to attend medical school and turn my long-held dream into reality. My desire to become a physician stems from a deep passion for helping others and addressing health disparities. Through my experiences, I have developed a commitment to lifelong learning and providing compassionate care that can positively impact lives. Medicine offers the opportunity to combine my love of science with my drive to make meaningful contributions to my community. Throughout my journey, I have embraced challenges and sought opportunities that push me beyond my limits. I am actively building experiences to strengthen my preparation for medical school applications. As a former participant in the 2022 High School Health Careers Program and the 2024 Summer Enrichment Program at UMass Chan Medical School, I confirmed my passion for a lifelong career in healthcare, one that combines direct patient care, continuous learning, and a sense of stability. I am highly engaged on my campus at UMass Lowell. I serve as a UKG Peer Leader for the River Hawk Scholars Academy, tutor organic and general chemistry, and recently began an exciting project in a new lab focused on radiochemistry and nuclear chemistry. These experiences allow me to grow as a student, mentor, and aspiring physician while preparing me to make a difference in the medical field.
