About Ivan Kovachev

With over 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, I am a passionate and driven engineer who specializes in avionics and continuing airworthiness management of narrow body A320Fam, B737CL, and ERJ190. I have a master's degree in Aeronautical engineering and I have obtained several certifications to supplement my academic journey. I'm currently interested in cybersecurity and its effect on the aviation industry. My last position was as a base maintenance liaison engineer representing my former employee easyJet, where I provided technical support and coordination between the MRO and customer internal departments, ensuring quality, safety, and cost control. Before that I was an avionics fleet technical engineer at easyJet, I was responsible for the performance of the electrical and communication systems of the A320 CEO and NEO fleet. I performed reliability monitoring and maintenance data analysis using AMOS and Airbus Skywise platforms and implemented various ways to improve the reliability of the systems. I also provided engineering support for new deliveries and end-of-leases, managed field loadable software, supported AOG situations to MOC and front-line engineers, and participated in the development of EasyJet’s predictive maintenance models and safety investigations. I have also worked as a CAMO engineer at Lufthansa Technik Sofia and BH Air, where I handled the engineering and continuing airworthiness of different aircraft types, including business jets - Gulfstream G200 and G550. Also, I participated in the delivery of the first A330 (MSN 255) to a Bulgarian operator. I have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results, prioritizing and solving complex problems, and collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
