About Ivan Mintier

Ivan Le Mintier spent over 23 years in the fmcg industry in senior management positions ( general management, marketing, sales and r&d). He worked for companies such as Nestlé, Danone, Mars and Yoplait, mostly abroad, outside Europe. He has built his expertise in nutrition, food systems and innovation strategies to build growth in developing countries. In 2004, he was one of the first to initiate small scale “social businesses” with large MNC’s (Danone, Mars, Bel.) in Asia and Africa. Ivan has been working closely from the beginning with the danone communities fund and is, as such, closely associated with their triple bottom line approach in Bangladesh and Africa. Ivan Mintier is the co-founder and head of the first industrial Chair of reasearch called I3F on frugal engineering and innovation, carried out by Paris-Saclay University and Managing Partner of a small consulting firm Icthys, launched fifteen years ago. He is also a farmer and operates the organic farm "Our Lady of Peace" in Britanny ( France ) With a group of students, he has set up " Initiative Agro Development "(IAD), a small ngo dedicated to supporting social business experimentations. Ivan holds an MBA degree from a Business School in Paris. He was a visiting professor at HEC from 2008 to 2011 within the Chair "Business and Poverty" and teaches at AgroParisTech on food security, malnutrition,"Bottom of the Pyramid" markets and new business models.
