I am a coffee lover, so in June 2019 my son (a certified Barista) my wife and I started a new project "Morena Coffee Company. Starting Our own business was very challenging, but I enjoy it every minute of it. From the moment of the idea, going thru every step of the journey we learn a lot. Permits, facilities, equipment, inventory, marketing, and other activities until the opening day in October 2019. We as a family worked hands on in every detail of the shop. Do I say that we opened the Coffee shop in front of the biggest Coffee Franchise in USA? Well, yes, we did it! We run our own (old school) marketing research to select final location and here we are, No fear at all. We were very happy until the Covid appears in March 2020, only five months from the start day. The only question in my mind, Can the Shop survive this Pandemic? What can I say? My son, the one who runs the shop was alone, without employees all day long to make like $30-40 a day. Rapidly we were behind on the rent and supplies but was at that point that we started to learn how to really run a business in difficult times and day by day we started to see the results we wanted. Now, we are happy to say that we are up and running at the market pace. We still have our challenges, but it has been a wonderful journey. The story has more details, and we have plenty of photos of the family construction project, maybe I can share some next time.
