About Ivan Obrien

Ivan is a Consulting Partner with responsibility for leading EY’s Risk Services on the Island of Ireland. He joined EY in 1996 and specializes in internal audit, enterprise risk management, IT risk management, cybersecurity, business continuity and programme assurance services. Ivan has a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Limerick and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Prince 2 Practitioner. In his 24 years with EY he has gained expertise both locally in the Irish market and globally in Australia and Canada where he spent 10 years of his career. He has led the delivery of risk assignments for dozens of clients in Ireland, UK, Australia and Canada. Ivan has also acted as the head of IT Internal Audit at the world’s largest gold mine company, acted as Head of Internal Audit for a major Irish energy company and acted as the Head of Internal Audit at a major Irish Airline. Ivan currently leads co-sourced internal audit services for a number of large Irish and multinational companies and public sector organisations. Ivan is the EMEIA leader for Programme Risk Management / Assurance services and has led information security projects at both a strategic and tactical level across almost all industries.
