About Ivan Rabanillo

Ivan Rabanillo joined Latham & Watkins' Tax Department in Madrid in May 2009, being promoted to counsel in 2013 and to partner in 2021. His practice focuses on transactional tax matters and, in particular, on Spanish and international tax aspects of cross-border transactions. In addition, Mr. Rabanillo has experience advising on the tax aspects of M&A transactions, capital markets offerings, banking, restructuring, and structured finance transactions. Ivan provides tax advice to companies with interests in Spain, the U.S. and Latin America (mainly Brazil). He received LL.M. degrees from New York University School of Law in 2007 and from the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 2003, and a Bachelor in Laws degree (Bacharel em Direito) from Universidade Salvador (Brazil) in 2001. He also received an Advanced Studies Degree (first step towards the completion of a J.S.D) from the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 2005. From 2003 to 2006 and from 2008 to May 2009, he worked as a tax associate at Garrigues Abogados y Asesores Tributarios in Barcelona, Spain. From 2007 to 2008 he worked as an international lawyer at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York. Mr. Rabanillo is admitted to practice in Spain, Brazil and the state of New York.
