About Ivan Romashchenko
I am an MSCA YUFE Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Cyprus, focusing on related party transactions in the EU. My research explores the effectiveness of strategies under the EU Directive 2017/828 and its implementing acts, as well as how stakeholders perceive these. I am passionate about comparative legal research and the challenges of modernising corporate law in a digital, globalised world. Previously, I was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and a Senior Researcher at the LegalTech Centre of Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius. I also have over ten years of experience in teaching and research at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, as well as teaching roles at the American University of the Middle East and guest lectures at universities in different countries. I earned my PhD at Leiden University with a thesis on related party transactions and corporate groups, which was later published by Wolters Kluwer. I have also been a guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg.
