About Ivan Shandybin

I'm currently a senior at Georgetown University in Qatar leveraging background in computer science and analytics in my work as Research Assistant in my university, where I led analytics projects using large datasets, APIs, web scraping, and advanced NLP methods to generate business insights. My skill set includes Python, SQL, NLP, Pandas, and Tableau. Together with a friend, I founded an analytics club at our university. Our goal is to promote the understanding and application of analytic techniques and technical skills. As part of this initiative, I have hosted two workshops on Python and LaTeX. I've also captained and coached GUQ's competitive programming team to multiple wins including National QCPC 2021, 2022. Placed top 4 at Qatar finals of Microsoft Imagine Cup using ML and Azure. Outside of work and academics, I played a numerous amount of sports, however swimming always stood out for me, since it's the sport I've played at a very high level for over 20 years. Currently, I’m also a captain of GUQ’s basketball team. Originally from Russia, I lived and studied in the United States, and currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Qatar, I’m excited to expand career opportunities globally and apply technical expertise in data science and analytics to economics and business roles.
