My background covered supervising or managing in quite a few industries; Burned Clay & Brick with the Domtar group, the Food Industry with Canada Packers in Montreal, Automotive windshield supplier OEM/ARG with PPG Industries, then a steel rolling mill with IVACO and now with the RCM in Ottawa. After supervising the production team for 3 years, I was offered a change and it was time. Working with the production group, engineering and improvement teams in a CI capacity. Early into 2013, we were hiring yet again and the management team asked me to manage the OTJ Trg with a clear mandate to lead the charge in breakthrough learning in manufacturing. Redesign programs that give people a complete learning experience, which means what happens before and after the formal periods of instruction as part of the design. Training & continuous learning is essential and must be managed in a business like manner to be effective. I firmly believe that those organizations that focus on the transfer and application of learning's and insights into business results will stand apart!
